E-zine news

We'd like your opinion about a possible project we might
be working on.
As many of you will know, it is Liv's 25th birthday on July 1st.
We thought that it would be a nice idea to send Liv a letter
explaining about the e-zine and all our lovely members,
along with letters, poetry, art, etc, from you lot.
We are more than happy to go ahead with this, but there is
little point if you guys don't want to take part.

Liv's Natural Glamour

Gorgeous Liv Tyler always looks beautiful
without wearing a whole heap of makeup.
The great news is, we know how she does it.

We're going to see a lot more of the gorgeous Liv Tyler this year.
Not only will she be starring as elf-princess Arwen in the second
part of The Lord of the Rings, she'll also be fending off the
paparazzi as she marries Royston Langdon of brot-rock band
Spacehog. The whole world will want to get a glimpse of Liv's
Stella McCartney-designed dress (the former Chloe) designer just
happens to be one of Liv's best friends) and maybe sneak a peak
at Liv's celebrity dad, Steve Tyler of US rock band Aerosmith.
A former model, Liv has acted since the age 19 [wrong! She's
acted since she was 16] in quirky films such as That Thing You Do!
and Stealing Beauty. She's unphased by the column inches devoted
to her looks. "If my cheekbones vanished overnight, I'd survive-I'd
still have a life," she says. "People are special just because of
who they are and what they believe in."

Perfect Skin
Liv credits her dad for her alabaster skin and for his beauty tips.
"He knows all the good creams and masks," she says. Her own
favourite brand is Jurlique. "I don't think I've ever been to bed
without washing my face, except once or twice when I've been
really drunk!" she says.
Liv swears by daily exfoliation, using Jurlique Face Wash Cream,
£15.45 (020-8841 6644). She also loves cult US brand Ole Henriksen
Truth Serum, £28 (020-7235 5000), and Get Fresh Powder Play,
£15.50 (0115-922 1462).
"Liv has luminous skin," agrees make-up artist Ashley Ward, who
often works with Liv. "She doesn't wear much make-up, just a
tiny bit of Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat, £20 (01444 255700),
under her eyes. If she needs a foundation she'll use something sheer like
Chantecaille Real Skin Translucent Makeup, £39 (020-7629 9161)."

Blushing Beautiful
Liv would look naked without her signiture doll-like flush. "She'll use a
cheek stain or a cream blush for a no make-up look," says Ashley.
Liv loves NARS Colour Wash in Pussycat, £21.50 (020-7299 4999),
and Vincent Longo Cream blush in Urban Rose, £15 (01252 741601).
"Otherwise," says Ashley, "sheer powder blushers such as Anna Sui Face
Color Blush in 302, £13 (020-7297 5000) are better for recreating
her healthy-looking flush. Look for something smooth, transparent and
completely matt. Anything with irredescence would take way the alabaster
affect, and Liv isn't a girl who likes to gleam."

Bee-stung Lips
"Liv's lips are naturally rosy, and they're such a beautiful shape that I
usually make her up with just a clear lip gloss," says Ashley. "Something like
Lancome Juicy Tubes Lip Gloss, £10 (available from department
stores) is perfect. If you need more pigment, Givenchy Laque Miroir
Crystal in 53, £12.50 (020-7563 8800), is a translucent scarlet
that looks like Liv's own colouring."
Liv also tints her bee-stung lips with raspberry-red tints such
as Chantecaille Lip Gloss in Kir and Ambrosia, £16.50 each,
Stila Lip Gloss in Posy Shine,
£13 (01730 232566), and Vincent Longo Cherry Lip Stain, £12.50.

Eyes Right
"Liv doesn't use much colour on her eyes," says Ashley. "With dark,
chestnut hair and deep grey eyes she can afford to play on her
natural colouring. If anything, she'll use a soft, slate-grey powder
to create a really gentle line of colour close to her upper eyelashes
rather than use a harsh eyeliner pencil." To get this look Ashley says
use a soft shadow like Calvin Klein Eye Shadow in Granite,
£12.50 (020-7361 4400), and finish off with eyelash curlers and a black
mascara. "One coat of Lancome Definicils Mascara in Black,
£15 (from department stores), is enough for Liv's look."

Liv's Hair Secrets
"I like having long hair," says Liv. "I just wash it, tie it in a bow and
let it dry."
Liv has a Marianne Faithfull-esque, slightly hippyish look. "Her long
layers bring out the soft movement in her hair," says Paul Windle, of
Windle Salon in London (020-7497 2393). "As well as bringing out the
natural wave, this half-up, half-down chignon emphasises all the
right bits of her face. The kink of hair that hangs loosely to one
side frames her eyes and cheekbones, and the length draws
attention to her lips."
To recreate Liv's look, Paul says use Bumble and Bumble Sumotech,
£15 (01768 895505). "Work it through towel-dried hair," says Paul.
"Blow-dry it till your hair's smooth but not flat. Take the front sections
away from your face and pin loosely on the crown, leaving a few
shorter layers free at the front to frame your face and letting the
rest fall in curls. Liv's fringe has been gently sculpted to one side,
so it blends in with that one loose curl."
Paul recommends finishing off with Bumble And Bumble Classic
Hair Spray, £9.10, for extra shine and hold.

Suzie's Pic...

I adore this picture of Liv, its so "come and get me".
I think she looks fantastic in pink, (like every other colour)
and its so different to most of the modelling shots
she does that are quite arty, mostly black and white.
When I look at a lot of Liv pictures in galleries and stuff,
this one always stands out, its so fantastic.
Not because its bright, but because its such a contradiction.
Liv looks beautiful in all her pictures,
but she looks an absolute fox in this one.
Thats why its my favourite.

"Liv Tyler, who plays Elrond's daughter, Arwen Undómiel,
became a very close friend of mine, but I was quite indimidated
by her at first. Before filming had started, I was sitting in the
hair and makeup trailer having my hairline raised for the wig.
As it was being shaved back, Liv came and sat next to me
for her wig fitting. We had met only once, the night before,
and I was obviously a bit in awe of her. I turned and asked
her what she thought of my new hairline. She replied that it was
'kinda cute', but suggested that I would look better
with the sides totally shaved off. Obviously I was
going to do anything Liv Tyler told me to do and,
before I knew it, I had a Mohawk!"

Vikki: I know this sounds totally boring but
I really do love everything about her
and can't pick out anything individually.
All her features combined make her who
she is, and in my eyes she's perfection
itself, so it's hard for me to pick out
anything in particular. For me, her
whole ensemble is what I like best, hehe

Suzie: I would have to say Livs best feature is her eyes.
Huge and blue, I bet they're the envy of most
of the female population. But the incredible
thing about them is that they're, how do i
put it....mysterious, i guess. Most of the time,
you can see emotion in peoples eyes.
Joy, sadness, guilt, the lot. But Liv gives
absolutely nothing away. I think this is part of what
makes her such a talented actress.
Her eyes stay completely neutral.
She must be a brilliant poker player Lol

Vikki: I actually quite like the outfit...the colour
is a little pale but Liv can pull it off
with her skin and hair colour...the
shape and style of the dress flatters
Liv's figure...I don't like her hair
short that much :(

Suzie: ok, I really don't think much of this outfit.
I think the shape is horrible and the
material makes it look cheap and as
if its almost stuck on. I think that
if it hugged her figure a bit more,
it would look much better. The colour is ok...
maybe a bit too grey.
Ummm, I really prefer livs hair long,
rather than short....but it does frame hair face well
