We've seen her up close, and trust us, the actress has perfect skin. Not.A.Mark.Genes, aside here's how she does it.
"My skincare's a bit haphazard. I chop and
change and try lots of different products,
but I can tell quickly if I'll be going back to something
or not. I also tend to stick to the
type of products I know I like. Exfoliators
and body scrubs are favourites, and I'm a
huge fan of face masks. I love the muddy,
tingly ones that tighten your pores. Small
pores seem to be the key to glowing skin."
"I love having my make-up done, but when
it's just me. I concentrate on really beautiful
skin I use a tiny lipstick brush and concealer
to cover blemishes and add a little base and
powder. I think that looks really fresh if you
curl your lashes, as well I also love sheer,
gel blush, corally lipsticks and eye pencils
in charcoal, brown and deep purple."
"Taking a bath is part of my routine,
especially when I'm traveling and don't get
enough sleep. I add essential oils, do a good
scrub, then lie with my mask on. Taking that
20 minutes out makes all the difference -
and so much of this job is about looking
your best. At home, I've got a really big bath and I'll pour
in two boxes of Epsom salts and
have a really good sweat; or if I'm reading
a script in the bath, a glug of invigorating
rosemary essential oil helps me focus."
"At the moment, I'm running on about five or six hours sleep,
which isn't enough, but my son wakes up at 6.30am and I rarely get to bed before midnight,
I always mean to get an early night, but find myself answering
emails, catching up with work, or watching a DVD.
Otherwise, I'd never get that time to myself.
I think a lot of mothers must relate to that."
"I know you're supposed to, but I never
drink enough water. It's easier when
I'm at home in New York, as I can get hold of
loads of juices like cucumber,
watermelon and lemon with ginger. But
when I'm away it tends to slip. I compensate
by adding Emergen-C sachets to the water
I do drink. They're a great little boost."
"Having my hair styled for special events
makes me feel prettier and more confident,
but for everyday. I just rough-dry, part it down
the middle and tightly twist the two sides. It
means I can let my hair dry naturally, but still
get a nice shape. I also love a low pony tail or
a bun - I just twist it into a quick knot."
"I feel deeply grateful for what I have
[looks-wise] but, like any woman. I feel
happy about some parts and insecure
about others. I try to work with what I've
got. I like my legs, but have never had d
great stomach, so I feel most comfortable
wearing tights, an A-line dress that's not
too short and a cardigan or blazer."
