learning her rituals young, from her

BEAUTY PHILOSOPHY "I feel, for me, beauty comes from the
inside out, because the people I find
most beautiful are always the ones
who have the most beautiful spirit."
BEAUTY TIPS "My grandmother and my mother are
the ones I've learnt the most from. My
grandmother always put moisturiser
on my skin, even when I was six years
old. When I would get out of the bath,
we would do it together. That's
something I do to this day, with
Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream. She
taught me to take that extra time,
even if it's only 15 or 20 minutes, even
when you are tired and it's the last
thing in the world you want to do."
MUST-HAVES "In my daily routine I use a cleanser,
a toner and something to exfoliate. like the Dermalogica
Daily Microfoliant. Sometimes I wear mitts and scrub my body or do
some dry-brushing. I also love the Clarlsonic Mia
I use it a lot because it makes my skin shine. My facialist,
Christina Radu in California, always
talks about how important it is to exfoliate. If you
think about it, so many cultures
[advocate it], like in the Korean
baths, or with dry-brushing and
other methods. To moisturise, I use Laboratolre Remede Alchemy
Advanced Moisture Emulsion, and my serum is Caudalie
Beauty Elixir. I also use masks three times a week; I have
different masks that I alternate between, depending on what I
feel my skin needs. There's one for cleansing - the Astara Blue
Flame Purification Mask - and one that moisturises. Most of my make-up products
are Givenchy. I use the Blush Gelée, a gel - like blush that you
rub on your cheeks, and the Hydra Sparkling Lip and
HAIR ADVICE "The best tip is to make the water
cold at the end of your shower when you rinse your hair.
I did a hair commercial where they actually
dipped my hair in a bucket of ice
water, to make it shinier. I keep a conditioning mask from Pantene's
Clinicare line in the shower and throw it on once a week. For me,
less is more with my hair. I just maintain the colour, keep it healthy,
trim the ends and use a really good conditioner."
DIET DIARY "I think diet has such importance.
I eat whatever I want for a few
days. I feel like my skin doesn't look
as nice as when I eat more vegetables and salads and drink juices.
I drink a green juice every day,
which I make at home from fennel,
apple, parsley, cucumber and a little
lemon and ginger. I crush up
macadamia nuts and sprinkle them
on the top. Basically, I just try and
eat healthy. I feel better when I do.
but if I want to go out to dinner and
eat something naughty, I will. And I
love potato chips."
SPA ADDICT "My favourite spa in the world is the
Beverly Hot Springs in California.
We like an old Korean bathhouse,
where you soak in the hot pool, then
dip in the cold pool, then steam, and
then do it all over again. They scrub
you, wash your hair, and put on
milk, honey and oil."
FITNESS FILES "I work out with two trainers: one is a
dancer, and we do basic exercises like
sit-ups and push-ups, and sometimes
tap dance. My other trainer is the
ballerina Mary Helen Bowers, and we
do ballet lifts, plies and the like. I've
noticed a huge difference [since I
started] - within a week my legs were
really strong from all the leg work."
