I Love my little Milo
by Rob Chilton, OK!, April 2007.
Not all celebs moms lose baby weight easily - Liv Tyler
says it took her a year of hard work.
"Parenthood changes your life in every way possible. There's this beautiful
thing in your life that means more to you than anything else. I love my little
Milo so much. He is the most marvelous thing that has ever happened to me."
"Your whole day and your whole life revolve around your baby. Caring for him
is what gives me the most pleasure, and he is the number-one priority.
At the end of the day when I might have time to do other things, I am so tired that all
I can do is order Chinese food and watch a movie."
"I feel really close to my husband. We are totally enjoying being parents.
I guess we're just compatible people. We're both patient and understanding, we're really good
friends and it just works. It's also really important for us both to focus, to be apart. He can't write
music if I'm breathing down his neck the whole time."
"Milo was 9 months old, and I was still wearing maternity top. I dialed
1-800 HELP ME and went to see my trainer. It took me a year to lose all that.
I went to the gym six days a week, sometimes twice a day. It was nuts.
Everyone says, 'I just breast-fed and ran around after my kid' - well, that
didn't happen for me. I had to work really hard. It's expensive to work
with all those trainers and do all these diets. It's boring."
"No one called me a beauty when I was younger and I was fat, had braces and a bad perm!
I'm just an ordinary girl. The only time I look in the mirror is when I have a pimple."
"Your weight or size shouldn't be an issue. Most young actresses who are really
skinny, almost in a scary way, there's no flesh on them. I'm pretty big
in comparison; I've got some flesh on my bones. I eat anything I want, and I'm proud
of it. I think it's important for women to have role models like me."
"The pressure of red carpet events is silly. I get really shy, and my knees start
"Hollywood spends far too much time worrying world seems to be fascinated on
being perfect and wanting to live forever. Trying to look perfect is a waste of time."
"I was really excited to be playing a therapist [in Reign Over Me with Saffron Burrows,
Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle] because never in my career had I been anything but
the girlfriend or the ingenue. It was a part that I took seriously."
"I have a shrink in New York who I love. I spent a lot of time with her
[for research]. I was learning some of her tricks, which made it very weird for
me to be in therapy with her. She told me that if I ever wanted to quit my day job,
I'd be an okay shrink. I said, 'I think there's something wrong with you saying that, but thank you."
"Let's just say my dad is not the best grandfather in the world, because, truthfully,
he's not with Milo much. But when they are together, they get along. He's always
traveling; that's why I don't see him as much as I would like to. It's the way he makes a living, and I don't criticize him for that."
