Long a great interview at Classicrockrevisited.com (http://www.classicrockrevisited.com/interviewBeBe.htm).

Bebe is talking about Liv quite a lot:

Quote
I actually wrote the lyrics to “Mother of Rock ‘n’ Roll” one day when I was walking around New York and I was listening to the Stones song “She’s My Little Rock ‘n’ Roll.” I thought, “I’m the mother of rock ‘’n’ roll,” meaning my daughter, Liv. Then it hit me and I thought, “Oh my God, wait a minute, maybe I really am the mother of rock ‘n’ roll.” It was that typical egoistical thing that all of us lead singers have. Who else is going to have the balls to say that, let alone get up there and delivery it? I couldn’t come up with anybody else, so I’m it.
...
I have a very big young girl following, which I’ve acquired from being Liv’s mother. To be honest, I like being the mother of Liv Tyler. I am so proud of her.
...
Jeb: Everyone brings up the fact that you’re Liv Tyler’s mother…

Bebe: I’m proud of my daughter. It is wonderful to know that you did a good job of being a mother. I turned out this beautiful girl. It was imperfect, and I had to get help from my family, but it turned out well.

Jeb: It must have been hard to keep from her that Steven was her father.

Bebe: It’s not that hard if they’re in bad shape. Steven was in no condition to be a father. He is one of my favorite people and I really consider him one of my best friends – you know, I think I can even out run him on stage [laughter]. In fact, at this point, I know I could.

To get back to your question, it wasn’t that hard because he was in such bad shape. When he finally did meet her, it was in 1986, when she was nine years old. He had just been put into rehab and had only been a couple of weeks sober. He was not meeting her as that creepy guy he had been.

He had seen many pictures of her during the lost years and we kept in touch. I pushed away from him after a while because his drug use was very frightening. It was at a level to where it got really ugly and guttery; it wasn’t pretty. Nobody wanted to watch it.

It was only hard when Liv got to be a little older and I was going to have to come clean. I wondered when it would happen. I wasn’t quite sure if I should wait until she was eighteen. I didn’t want to disrespect Todd. I was trying to hold it altogether but then I went, “You know what, the most important person here is Liv. The grown ups can all get together and deal with it.” Then, she solved all of that one night. Steven called up and said, “I’ll send a car for you and you all can come to the gig.” It was August of 1988. Guns n Roses were opening for Aerosmith. I brought Liv along and she met Mia, who is 18 months younger than she is. They look like bookends. It was one of those moments where the children figured it out. Liv flat out asked me, “Is he my dad.” What am I supposed to do? It wasn’t like I signed any kind of agreement with anybody. I just had to follow my heart, and my heart said I had to be honest.
...
Jeb: You managed her career. Your knowledge of the good, the bad and the ugly of the entertainment business had to be a huge gift to her.

Bebe: She was only 14 or 15 when all of this hubbub started up and I wasn’t going to let any of those barracudas around her. I wanted to spare her that and I wanted her to become savvy. Now, you can put her right in the tank with those people. She knows exactly what she’s doing as she is smart and very poised. She wants a long career and the way she’s handling things is perfect. It was a good thing that I was there in the beginning as I think that she has achieved something that a lot of other kids with rock n’ roll parents have not achieved.

Jeb: She has been able to achieve success in the industry where a lot of them become victims to the industry.

Bebe: There is a lot of talent in these kids -- I’m not going to start mentioning names because I’ve known half of them since they were born. Some of them have parents that really don’t let them suffer at all, or learn how to stand on their own two feet. Most of these kids grow up really rich. Liv and I had some really lean years. There were times that Todd didn’t have the money to pay any child support, even though he willingly wanted too. I was working three jobs and I was touring with bands. She knows what it’s like and she has work ethic. She knows what its like to work hard, struggle and to get things because she worked for it. I think she is different in that aspect and I think it has helped her.

Another interview of Bebe, this time to electricthreadshop.com (https://www.electricthreadshop.com/blog/sunday-morning-with-bebe-buell), a bit about Liv:

Quote
What has motherhood taught you? Did becoming a mom change the relationship with your own mother? How does it make you feel watching Liv have children of her own?

I was so young when I had Liv and she came into the world under some confusing and turbulent times. But I come from the belief system that everything happens for a reason, we're all where we're supposed to be at that given moment and our souls are connected by a karmic association. Having gone through a non traditional version of parenthood makes me so happy that Liv can have all the happy, normal parts of the process that I didn't have. All I know is I love her and my grand babies more than the moon and the stars. I'm so proud of the woman Liv has become. She's a super mother, and has done it all effortlessly and perfectly. I'm also VERY grateful that her father and I are such good friends. I've known Steven for 43 years now. AMAZING! What a blessing. I think both Liv and I depend heavily on my Momma. She's who we toss everything to for an opinion and advice. My mom is pretty amazing. She was right there by my side when I gave birth to Liv in 1977.

Bebe has a new Album Baring It All (https://www.amazon.com/Baring-All-Greetings-Nashbury-Park/dp/B079PHKJFB/).

She was interviewed by njarts.net (https://www.njarts.net/pop-rock/bebe-buell-digs-deep-on-new-album-baring-it-all-greetings-from-nashbury-park/), some interesting bits:
Q: “Can You Forgive?” is certainly not universal, since it mentions your daughter by her first name. Who is that song about?

A: I’m very open in saying that one is about Todd. If you listen to the very end of the song, it goes, “C’mon, Todd.” That’s for him. I hope that this song will bring some healing.

Q: And finally how about “By a Woman”? I’m sure you don’t want to label it a feminist song, but it couldn’t be more timely.

A: I want it to be labeled anything that makes anyone comfortable. What’s interesting about that is that I wrote it four years ago, and have been playing it live. It’s a fan favorite, and I’ve even sung it onstage with Crystal Gayle. When we went to record this album, I told Jim that we really have to focus on “By a Woman” and do the best job we can.

The times are right. It has such a universal message right now. Who could have planned this? I never knew the #metoo movement was ever going to happen. I’m a fighter, so I’m not just fighting sexism, I’m fighting ageism too. I’m against all the ism’s, and that’s what this song is about.

Q: Your daughter paid you a wonderful compliment on this matter, when she said that she didn’t have any casting couch stories or bad experiences along those lines because you did such a great job of protecting her, “like a lioness protecting her cub.”

A: You betcha. My daughter’s beauty erupted when she was 14, and the whole thing happened so quickly. I knew that if she was handed over to agents or managers, she would be taken advantage of. I can’t tell you how many slasher films and semi-nude, icky films they tried to throw at my child. I just said, “No, I want her to work with the greatest directors, and I want to look at only the best scripts.” I was never a “Momanger” like Kris Jenner, but I have a great head for business as long as it’s being used for other people, and not myself. [laughs] I observed so much over the years by hanging around show business royalty. I saw great managers do their thing, from Peter Grant (legendary Led Zeppelin manager) to Sharon Osbourne. So people didn’t mess with Liv. By the time I got back onstage again after seven years of managing her, I was exhausted. It wasn’t a job I chose, but I did it to protect my daughter.

Q: It’s reflexive and probably wise to question whether a famous person is genuine or not, but I have to say that from this distance, your daughter appears to be a genuinely kind and down-to-earth person.

A: Oh, she is. She’s just a great girl. Liv has a lot of class and a lot of integrity and those are things you just can’t go out and purchase.

...

Q: It appears that you and Steven get along famously now – possibly better than ever?

A: Yes, in a way you’re right, but we’ve always been very close. Steven and I are very compatible. I get along with him like a house on fire and he will forever be a great, great love in my life. I can’t dismiss that. And then you look at our child, and you can see that she’s obviously a love child. I think love children have a different aura than children who, unfortunately, are not. I just think that you can see from Liv’s light that she was conceived by love.

Q: Was there one particular reason why you and Steven couldn’t put it all together back in the day?

A: His personality and his lifestyle were just too much for me. I have a practical side that I got from my mother, I always knew when I had done too much of anything. I’m not the type of person who is going to drink someone under the table. And in the days when I used coke, I knew when to stop. I learned that from Mick Jagger. He said, “Bebe, you do a tiny bit, then you walk away.” [laughs] I was blessed not to have an addictive personality.

Q: But you seem to have the type of personality that might be able to keep up with Steven.

A: Robert, at that time, a herd of wild ponies couldn’t have kept up with him. There was a lot going on there. He’s a very complex, brilliant, and … well, there’s a lot going on. [laughs]
