Title: Celebrity Sightings
Post by: Angel on March 18, 2005, 01:28:39 AM
I thought we needed a topic that discussed celebrity sightings in your area!! I live in Los Angeles and it happens almost everyday!! Tell us your story of who you met or just seen out and about!

Mine recently is a good one!!! I just saw Casey Affleck in his car as I was stopped at a light making a left turn, he was making a Left onto my side of the street and my window was down and his was too. I was blasting music but noticed him as he turned and looked at me and he actually winked!!! I almost died as I think he is soooo cute!!! I wanted to be be like, "WAIT! I just saw your wife at the Fashion Show!! ...and YOUR HOT!!!!!" hahahaha..That would have been a riot huh?

I also saw the guy from the movie Dodgeball. The one who played the pirate. Arrrr mate!! He was cute in person. He was buying music as I was waiting for my chanitco at Starbucks!!

I love L.A.!! :D

Miranda Otto walked past me in Sydney once, I was outside the NSW art gallery with friends and she walked past. I didn't realise who it was until like 10 minutes later.

These don't really count as sightings, but my best friends Dad is working with David Wenham on a production of Cyrano and her little brother "hangs out" with Dave's daughter Eliza Jane. They're about the same age. I also know two people who worked as prosthetic makeup artists on LotR, I also used to know (my dad was friends with him) an Australian actor called Jonothan Hardy, he was the Man in the moon on Moulin Rogue and also was in Ned Kelly with Heath and Orlando.  :D

I think I put this in a simular topic but since I'm bored at work:

Last person I met was Gary Beals..  EXACTLY!    Runner up in the Canadian Idol Show last year. HE SUCKS!  I'm not even going to bold his name.

Met Michael Douglas(served him a drink) and his wife. Bermuda

Saw Liz Taylor in a Bermuda version of Wal-Mart. She was oretty fugly lookin.

Met a professional Golf Player.. one of the best .. from Australia. I forget his name but the men with him were teasing him by using me. So embarassing. (I'm not big on Golf but my uncle was pretty impressed when I told him who). Met some NHL players.. this is all while I worked at the bar in Bermuda.. GERALDO!!!! THe talk show host with the nasty mustache.

Met Mariah Carey, Mira Sirvino and some of the Sapranos. I was on the set the day Mira blew up at Mariah. Mariah waltzed in with a pink boom box playing her OWN music and she was late. So Mirah let her have it for making us all wait for her.. telling her how unprofessional she is. Mira ROCKS! As we waited Mira went around to talk to everyone. What a nice girl!  Miraiah on the other hand.. I have other words I'd choose to describe her.

Met Harrison Ford. Funny story to this one. He was with 2 other men. Stopped in my work while I was bartending in my city and asked me where 'Citadel Hill' was. [it's a touristy landmark on a hill right next to the bar that is known as the 'fruit loop' at night cause of the gay bonding going on] so I told him where it was but laughed and said I wouldn't go up there now if I were you. They laughed and took off. My shift was over not long after so I walked home and passed Harrison and his friends. They were laughing their asses off and cursing up a storm. I said I told you not to go up there! And Harrison was like "oh my f@cking shit" or something simular.. and they were all half bent over laughing. I chuckled the rest of the way home to myself.

Said Hello to Kevin Spacey and got a hi and a smile back. He came into the bar I worked at wearing jeans, an ugly nasty coat and a KENT Building Supplies hat.. They shoot a lot of movie scenes at a kent warehouse here. He was obviously not in the mood to be noticed. He tips very well.

A couple popular boy bands here in Canada: Soul Decision & McMaster & James. They played at the bar I worked at and invited me and my friends to party with them.

Met Jimmy Carter and his Wife when I was 16. I had to take their photo for an RCMP magazine. My dad was in charge of the police doing the security so I had my photo taken with them as well. Jimmy's a touchy feely flirty old man!  ;) He whispered in my ear "I'd glad you wanted your photo taken with me" while he put his arm around my waist and squeezed. oh well! he's harmless. Too bad that wasn't Will Smith.

That's all I can think of right now. I know an actor who appears on big shows like Joan of Arcadia, V.I.P, Las Vegas, Star Trek.. but they are no namers still.. someday they'll be big! So I told him when he goes to the red carpet I'm his date .. let's hope he remembers that.

Ok I should do a little work after all this typing.. nawe!

Awww, I think he was probably just being sweet. Perhaps he was just flattered that a 16 year old Canadian girl actually knew who he was.  :P I worked with Mr. Carter on a Habitat for Humanity project back in 1998 (when I was 22). He was always a gentleman...very grandfatherly. Unfortunately, I've encountered more than my fair share of touchy-feely old men (people who know me swear I'm a magnet for them  ). Over the course of a week I never once got that vibe from him.

I haven't had any sightings recently, but my buddy Steve did see Steven (Tyler) eating breakfast in a local diner called Percy's Place back in October.  :shooter:

I didn't say I got a icky vibe from him.. he's actually well known for being touchy feely and flirty...it's his nature. I just wish it was someone more my age and better looking doing the touching:)

Really? I've honestly never heard that about him. He was very friendly and approachable, but I wouldn't call him "flirty". There were two days that I worked directly with him on some landscaping around the project site. He asked about my background, school, what I hoped to do in the long term. He seemed genuinely interested and even gave me some really good advice about training my (then) boyfriend's dog to stop stealing food off of the counter. He also encouraged me to apply to Peace Corps, but I never did. At the end of the week he gave each of us some homemade peanut brittle and a big hug goodbye.

Oh well, I guess I define "touchy feely and flirty" differently.  I think of pats on the bottom and people standing much closer to me than I'm comfortable with. :P  And I know what you mean...if I had one decent young gentleman for every ten "grab-assy old men" in my life I would have a full social calendar. What's that about?

The TV host my mom dated is also the lead of a famous music band here... Now he's the host of like a games show... Where people go and particìpate and win money for stupid things like guessing the song or making fake phone calls... And well my cousin (she) is a model in that show too... She's on TV from Monday to Friday :D We don't see each other much though...

Celia :) Yeah touchy feely and flirty isn't a bad thing.. depending on where they touch and feel you    We had his secret service guys over for a BBQ and they're the ones who said he's known for touchy feely.. I actually heard it quite often. He was on Regis and Kelly and they were joking about it.

"As any number of associates and reporters assigned to him have noted, Jimmy Carter constantly pats, squeezes, kisses, hugs; he touches not like the old-time backslapper but INTIMATELY."

I got this here..
Touchy feely :) (http://209.87.142.42/y/ea/e45.htm)

Like I said it's not a bad thing.. Livy is also a touchy feely person :) I wish I was more touchy feely. It's just not my nature.

Two of my close friends are Secret Service agents. I've PMed you their names....I'm sure your guy probably knows them (or at least knows OF them).

Thanks for the link. I guess I can see what they're saying. Still, I found his manner very grandfatherly and reassuring. I wish I was more like that as well. I am that way with children, but once people are out of elementary school I have a very hard time touching them unless I'm very close to them (sister, boyfriend, mom, stepdad). I guess I'm afraid of offending them, or worse, giving them "the wrong impression". I don't know why I always thought "touchy-feely" had negative connotations.   From that weblink it seems to mean the same thing as "hands-on" which I've always interpreted as a positive quality.  :)

Going back to grab-assy old men...why do you think they are like that? Do they really think we find that behavior enchanting or do they just assume that they've got nothing to lose so might as well go for the cheap thrill?

 hey um....this topic is something I came up with back in getting to know you, so if any of you are having deja vu, that's why...

Like I have stated elsewhere (all over actually) I saw Roy in NY, wearing his orange jacket and carrying a bag of groceries. All I saw was milk in there, and like bread. I nearly flipped. But as an honorary memeber of the LLT forum, I crossed my heart and didn't follow him home like most people in their right minds would do. Instead, like insane people would do, I sat quietly and gawked out the restaurant window. My mom thought I had a heart attack.
I also saw some people from Mad TV in JFK airpost at the JetBlue terminal. I don't know their names, but the one who was the principal in the Lizzie Maguire movie was wearing cropped overalls and a prison shirt and she was two spots ahead of me at Dunkin Donuts. And she got two muffins.

But that is all...and like I said, this topics in Getting to Know You, so if a moderator wants to combine them, you have my permission to work around with the other one.

I have met a few comic artists, which was just an amazing experience for me, but only Phantom Phans or avid comic fans will probably know who they are.

I do have something I’d like to share with you. while I did not physically meat this person, I do have a signed photo of them. Last year I sent a fan letter to my favorite actress Piper Perabo. I love Liv, but Piper is my all time fav. In my letter i said how much her films, inparticularly Lost and Delirious mean  to me and what an inspiration she’s been for me, and my dream to be a comic artist. All the usually fanboy gibberish. I didn’t really expect her to even read the thing let alone reply to it.

However, about two weeks later I found a letter in my mailbox posted from America. Inside was a signed photo of Piper on the set of Lost And Delirious!!! She had written a shot message which read.

“To Joe,
Thank you for your beautiful letter!
 Follow your dream.
<Love heart>Piper Perabo”

I couldn’t believe it. I just sat and stared at it for ages. It was the most amazing feeling. Even now when i look at it (I bought this really nice wooden frame to put it in) I still can’t believe it. It’s just amazing!

Anyway, enough of me gabbing. Here’s a image of the photo. Its just so damn cool. Even cool than my comics...well, almost.

Last summer I was working in Edinbugh Fringe Festival and I am POSITIVE i saw Dom Monighan walking down Princes Street. Now then, I know Billy Boyd had a premiring film in the film part of the festival, so it is plausable it was him - on t'other hand it all happened so fast it may have justbeen a fantastically cute guy who was walking real quick!
I've never seen LOST but i know a bunch of you guys are die hard fans, do you know if he was filming last august? Or if he was in the UK???

Would be lovely to say I did see him. I'd like to think we had a 'moment'!!!! :D

Sonnenallee... with the lovely Ken Duken, hehehehe :D

I saw Tom Cruise and John Woo at the premiere of M:I-2 in Cologne, aswell as Uma Thurman, David Carradine, Michael Madsen and this woman who plays "Elle" -forgot her real name- last year at the premiere of Kill Bill Volume 2 in London.
I also meet some German "celebreties" (if you can call them so) here from time to time.
I never really talked to a celebrity though... but some weeks ago I had an interview with a person who was very close so Sir Peter Ustinov, which was really very interesting. :)

hmm... I've psoted something like this before:
I've met Mad Mikkelsen and Lars Brygmann (you probably don't know them) They were in my town filming...

And so there's this young boy in a band (very popular band! but I don't like them) He lives like 200 m from me... and his mother works on my works (I actually had her one year) so I've seen him pretty many times... But I haven't talked to him

and then I've seen many other danish actor and actresses, but not any internationals.
Oh, yes! I saw Viggo, PJ, Andy Serkis, John R-Davis. But I only saw them <_< And then I got Barrie Osbournes and Alan Lees autograph :)

Went to visit my sister and her boyfriend in NYC this weekend. They live in the Village and after dinner we decided to grab a few pints at the Cupping Room (http://www.cuppingroomcafe.com/zgrid/proc/site/sitep.jsp) in SoHo since they had a live jazz band scheduled and weren't charging a cover. Well, apparently Sean Lennon had the same idea...he was sitting at the bar listening to the music with his mom (we actually recognized her first).  No cover and a Lennon sighting? What luck!  :P Anyway, the weather down there was INCREDIBLE this weekend. Felt like summer! :shooter:

Richard Hatch  (http://www.richhatch.com/) News:
A friend of mine informed everyone at the party I was at that Richard Hatch(gay winner from survivor) got married in my province today. He owns lots of property here.. like 17 of them and my friend's dad Married(preformed the ceremony) Richard and his boyfriend today. Funny thing was when he called to book my friend's dad to marry them.. his wife answered the call and she said well we need $200 right away to book the wedding. And Richard said "That's not a probalem I'm Richard Hatch.. "She said yeah so we need the $200 and he's like"I'm Richard Hatch.. it won't be a problem" She finally said listen I don't care who the piss you are we need the $200 to book the date.   We say weird swear words in weird spots here

Not a big deal.. but thought I'd share the information. Since it happened here in Nova Scotia I'm sure you won't hear much about it elsewhere. We don't have paparazzi :P When my friend told it to me he said My Dad married Richard Hatch and I looked at him funny. I was thinking his dad was gay and married him. But he meant preformed the ceremony. We had a good laugh.

I grew up in New Jersey. I moved to Rhode Island for college (RWU (http://www.rwu.edu/About+RWU/)). After graduation I left to find work, but returned to attend graduate school (URI (http://www.gso.uri.edu/index_msie_big.html)). In total I've lived here for 6 (going on 7) years. It would be to tough to convince me to move out of the state again. You should come back! Newport Harbor is just starting to fill up with sailboats for the season.

Check out this horribly cheesy RI Tourism Video (http://www.visitrhodeisland.com/video/ritour.aspx). Wonder how much of my tax money was spent producing it.

I was born and raised in Colorado and I am still stuck here.  I want to get out because there isn't anything to do here unless you want to drive for hours to get to the mountains.  I don't like to ski and that is really all that is offered here.  Right now I work in the automotive business doing accounting work for them but I hate it.  I want a new career.  What kind of things are offered out there?  One of my friends has a friend who owns Stamas auto in Rhode Island.  I could get a job there easy but I am not sure that I want to stay in this industry.. you know?

What about taking a job there just to get yourself back East and then finding something else once you're settled? I understand what you mean about Colorado. It's incredibly beautiful out there but things are very spread out. My sister lived in the Denver area for years but eventually needed to get back to the coast for sanity's sake (she's in California now). I would love to live in that area, but I work in marine science so if I move inland I'm out of a job! :P

I think you'd be very happy out here. Do some cost-of-living research first, though....I have a feeling it's no different from where you are now. Of course, I think you're in a better-paying line of work than I am so it may not be an issue for you. ;)  Just to give you an idea, most of the rentals in decent neighborhoods start around $1000/month + utilities (mine is $1200 since I have dogs). There are some less-expensive areas of the state but you have to be careful. I rented in one of the lower rent districts for less than a year and my car was broken into three times.    You can find very cheap housing around the colleges ($400-500 per person in 3-5 bedroom vacation houses) but they're only short term rentals and you have to move out for the summer. The best place to start is probably craigslist (http://providence.craigslist.org/apa/) or ListItRI (http://www.listitri.com/browse.php?choice=show_list&filter=20). And if you do move out you'll have to look me up! We can go visit Liz together! :)

Celia,

I did do some research via the internet to find out the cost of living & it told me that it was cheaper in Rhode Island than in Denver.  I pay 1000 dollars now + utilities and everything and I own my house.  It is usually around 1200 or so to rent a place out here.  I don't make very good $ either.  It's not horrible considering but it's not enough.  I will have to really delve into some research to find out.. Thanks for you help :D

As far as rents go it's probably just like the US...depends on where you go.  Today $1.00 US=$1.25 Canadian so Liz's rent would work out to around $340/month in our dollars. Considering thats including utilities I'd say she's making out like a bandit! ;) Of course, if we were full-time residents earning a Canadian paycheck that exchange rate would even out.

You're right, Talia. I just went to a salary converter and it said I would need to make 1,100/year more if I lived in Denver so I guess things are a little cheaper out here. We probably have lower gas/food prices since theres less shipping cost involved.  Housing prices suck though. Not as bad as in other major cities, but still too high for me. I can't afford a house on my salary and I want one so badly. Even the little Cape Cods are over 300K and the property taxes are really high. Throw in PMI and it looks like I'll be renting forever... :(

On friday I attended a lecture, where a Nobel Prize winner should have come, but he unfotunately canceled it. Instead there were some professors and theorists.
Ranga Yogeshwar was the moderator. Most of you probably don't know him, but he is quite famous in Germany. He has a science-show on TV which is always quite interesting.
I like him very much, because he has got so much charism and explains even the most difficult subjects in a way that everyone understands them. :D

I served Ryan from the O.C. Tonight :) And I didn't even know it was him.. so I served his drink in a cheap plastic glass and charged him for it. And made him wait his turn .. when I finally got to serve him(we were slammed) I realized hmm he looks like someone but it was so busy I didn't have time to think.. then someone said later that night "that's Ryan!" He kept coming to me for drinks too.. like 3 times.  If it was SEth who was there I woulda known right away and hunted him down after  ;)
Anyway he's short, and greasy longish hair tucked behind his ears.. and when he looks at you he stares and has these cute puppy dog eyes.. but he looks nothing like he does on tv. He's here filming a movie.  Girl I worked with saw Rob Lowe but I wouldn't know him to see him at all.

Well my little celeb. sighting was quite funny really.

Since I live in a very very very...small town in upper Wisconsin, Eagle River, we don't normally see celebs.  They do come but we don't see them much.  Anyways, two weeks ago when I was at work, a lady came in shopping and people kept going over to here and talking and she kept signing something.  Well I didn't think much of it, until the person next to me checked her out.  It ended up being Nicki Sixx's (from Motley Crue) wife.  The funny thing about it is the whole time she was there I kept wondering who she was until she left then my co-worker said, "You idoit, don't you know that was Nicki Sixx's wife.?"  Now didn't I look stupid.

Also Mel Gibson has a summer home up here.  I have never seen it but others have and say it is really beautiful.  Maybe I will go and see it and take a picture.  Who knows?

I don't know if I'm spelling that right, but he was about ten people ahead of us and my dad saw him and alerted us. It was a little weird, but he waited in line just like the rest of us. I haven't seen a celeb there in a while, I think the last one I saw was Donny Osmond and I didn't technically see him because I was only five years old. But whatever ;) In case you're wondering, the ride was Space Mountain.

Well, onto my claim to fame of the day.... at work yesterday I served Jerry Hall. She looked a bit rough and I didn't recognise her for a bit, lol.

Anyways, she bought over £400 worth of Calvin Klein underwear. And I served her... so was a little bit famous in the shop after that, lol. People kept coming over and asking if it was true, lol.

I live in Bryceville Florida not far from the Okefenokee Swamp and we don't see many celebrities around here. However, Tim McGraw, a country music singer married to Faith Hill, has a place done the road a piece close to Folkston Ga. They were going to turn that place into a country music theme park - but I think they may have changed their minds - it is way out in the sticks and the cost of development is very high.  Him and Faith live about ten miles away In McClenny Florida and I see them driving by occasionally. A friend of mine who lives in Waycross Georgia got to meet Elvis in 1960-something. He was supposed to play at the coliseum in Jacksonville but they bared him from playing because his act was Lewd. My friend was sixteen at the time. She and other friends drove all the way to Jax just to see the King... and were very disappointed when he wasn't allowed to play. The next day she was sitting in the porch swing at her Granny's house right on the main highway when she herd a loud boom like a shotgun. She looked up as a big brand new Cadillac pulled up in her granny's drive. Elvis got out of the car, opened the trunk and started swearing.  Prissy, my friend just stood there on the porch speechless. Elvis walked up to the porch and said,
"Excuse me miss, do y'all have a phone I could use? I got a flat and no spare."
Prissy couldn't say anything and she wet her pants... really. But Granny came to the door and let Elvis in so He could call Claude Nolan Cadillac in Jacksonville (where he bought the car)... He gave them hell about the spare missing from the trunk and they sent someone all the way from Jacksonville to get him going again. So Granny and prissy got to talk to Elvis for awhile and prissy fell in love for sure. After he was gone she remembered that she didn't even ask for his autograph... and she cried for days.  Until a thank you note came in the mail... enclosed was a 45 recording of "HOUND DOG" signed "To Prissy with LOVE, Elvis"
Other than that... can't remember last time anyone saw any celebrated people around here... except when W. came to town but he was campaigning and they go everywhere then.  I really don't think many celebs' get to this neck of the woods.

Also, when we got to the club Alex Zane was there.

I saw Scarlett J today. In the same mall where I first saw her. This is my second time seeing her in Toronto. I just left a high end mall in T.O where they were about to host a fashion show. I wasn't sure if she was going to attend. She looked so cute. She was wearing a mini skirt with light coloured leggings. Her skin is beautiful and her body is out of this world. I am trying to see if I could find any recent pics of her out and about in Toronto but the most recemt I could find are in New York on March 29.

Lots of politicos lately. Laura Bush was the commencement speaker at my local University (and my alma mater), Roger Williams. Her speech was all of ten minutes but they had the whole town on lockdown for almost two days.  I couldn't go to the library without passing through security.  <_< http://whitehouse.fed.us/ (http://whitehouse.fed.us/news/releases/2006/05/images/20060519-4_p052006sc-0297-1-515h.html)

And last month "Bill & Hill" were in town for a fundraiser and I was held up waiting for their motorcade to pass so the street would reopen. I've shaken Bill's hand before, but I've never met Hillary...would actually love to talk to her.

Oh, and Mischa Barton was walking by, too. But I only realized it when she was past us already. Everyone was freaking out, 'OMG, it's *mumble*!!!' - and I was like 'who!?' and looking for a man, lol. And then she was away anyway.

Actually my aunt is an LOTR nut. She even wears the Evenstar.  :D

I remember being at the same place two years ago at the premiere of Kill Bill 2.. unfortunately I heard about it a bit too late and so I just saw the cast from faaar away and I tried to take some pics by holding my camera as high as possible but you can't really see too much on them. :/

Ah, anything else I'll post later  :D

Crescent, we were really lucky there. They shooed us out of three spots we had searched us and finally we ended up quite far away. But they build barriers there and we were in the front row. Sometime after the first cars with Keira, Orlando and Johnny got through they build up more barriers, so that a good part of the fans was cut from the 'red carpet' - that was right next to us, so we got in at last minute, lol.

I think i once saw Gael Garcia Bernal. i was in Rome and we were walking around somewhere near Vatican and taking a look at shops. then i saw him.. he was with his family i think. i told my dad: "Hey!!! that's Gael Garcia Bernal!" and he told me "who?" and i told: "That Che Guevera guy"... i had a magazine in my bag and there was an interview of him... but i didn't have the courage to go talk to him and take an autograph... actually i wasn't completely sure that it was Gael...
he was so cute and really handsome but so down-to-eart in person...if it's really Gael! :P

Really? wow lol.

I would love to meet some celebrities. The closest thing I got to meeting someone who was..kinda famous was one of those gladiator stars (can't even remember his name). I think it was wolverine or something like that.

My dad also met Vinnie Jones onces without really knowing who it was at first. He had known his father for years not knowing that he was the father of Vinnie Jones. lol

I don't think I've ever posted in this thread, but I have met a good many of my favorite famous people :)

I met Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins, David Pajo from Billy's short-lived band Zwan, Maire Brennan (awesome Irish musician and Enya's sister), band members from Rasputina (cello band), my favorite author Charles DeLint, fantastic Celtic musicians Andy M. Stewart, Pat Kilbride, the dearly departed Johnny Cunningham, John Doyle and Karan Casey who used to be in the band Solas (quite well known in the Celtic music world)

I almost met Marilyn Manson, but he's hard to get ahold of...I met his personal assistant and talked to him for a good bit though

The best part is that most of them have my CDs  :D

I could've spent more time, because there weren't too many people in line at that point, but I was quite nervous. He looks so much better in reality than in picture. I absolutely love his eyes. :D

My roomie served coffee to Chris Daughtry, though she didn't know it at the time. He's from American Idol.
She also got to see the filming of some movie with Sandra Bullock, and she thinks Viggo. Forces of Nature or something?

As far as I know, the last famous person I came across was a race driver. Jeff Gordon, my Pop, my friend, and I bowled next to or near him. It was many years ago.

I remember when I was younger, I was running throught the grocery isles with the cart. I wasn't tall enough to see over the handlebar yet, and I'm told I nearly plowed into some racecar driver.

I met Irina Lazareau last night at the Babyshambles aftershow. She was there, but I'm not sure if it was with Peter. I thought they'd split up and they didn't look very cozy (plus, he went into a room eating the face off of this other bird) so who knows. She is very small, has a cute accent, and looks better in person than in photos. She was shy but sweet, if a little snooty at times. I want her coat :P (I asked where she got it and she was like Vivianne Westwood...haha, gutted).

I met Pete Doherty briefly, plus other members of Babyshambles bar one, and they were all lovely as ever. Though Peter is absolutely crap at pool.

Post by: mata on April 17, 2009, 05:57:07 PM
I'll just copy what I wrote in my LJ - I'm still so knackered!

We arrived there way early. Be it the weekday or the change of schedule, no one (except a bunch of tourists) was there. At least we waited in a spot with a bench the first few hours (sitting!), until one of the guys there told us where the best spot would be (and that was a lot closer to the 'press pit'). So we moved there, made contact with the only other fan there so far and asked her to help my friend Jana to secure our spot (incidentally she was waiting for some more friends too, saving space for them).

That was necessary cause Jenny, my other friend, got a really nice surprise e-mail the evening before - we (or rather she, but she didn't want to go alone and after all I'm working on zoe-saldana.com as well ;D) were to interview Zoe Saldana! They granted us 10 minutes around 1pm in their hotel where the press stuff took place as well.

Growing nervous we took a cab to the hotel (it wasn't in walking distance to the blue carpet), dunked our heads into the make up bag and finally were waving around the printed out e-mail. A bit of waiting until someone took us upstairs to the rooms where the TV interviews took place. Jenny elbowed me into the side - there was Zachary Quinto (closely followed by John Cho). I just stared while he walked by, no way I could've pulled out my camera in time. *le sigh*

Then came Zoe - and boy is she gorgeous in person! She was told who we were, hugged us, thanked for the support and then we were dragged into an interview room. She was very open, friendly, bubbly and downright gorgeous. Will surely tell you as soon as the interview goes up at the site, I filmed it all. Ignore the giggling. :P All in all it was an awesome interview, but Zoe had no real time - she patiently signed some stuff for us, hugged us again and 'see you tonight'.

We took a cab back too, and as soon as I was sitting inside - Zach and his brother Joe stepped out of the hotel, signed some stuff and vanished into a car. No way I could've gotten out of the cab in time to pounce approach him, but I took a pic and was confident to get lucky later on (not, meh).

Back at the cinema a few more people were clinging to the fence, but we had no problem to get back to our spot. So, more waiting, chatting, giving various interviews (Four times, oh dear. lol), even more waiting and finally the whole thing started. Lots of german 'stars' I wouldn't have recognized even if they told me their names, until the cast arrived individually in cars. Posing for the press, giving interviews, and then they were sent down to sign stuff. At least until they were rushed off for more posing and more interviews, one by one. With the promise that they'd be back afterwards, which unfortunately wasn't the case.

I think what disappointed me most was that Zach was rushed off first, just after he started the row, so no one of us got anything signed by him. Ah well, next time! But there was Simon Pegg (so cute and funny!), Eric Bana (*swoon*), Karl Urban (HOT!) and John Cho (funny as well, gotta love him!). Zoe I already had, Chris Pine skipped me, as did JJ Abrams, but I really can't complain. ;D

So the cast vanished into the cinema, there was a short event before the movie started and they rushed off the airport. We waited, not knowing that, a little while longer. I did get a free ticket for the movie, but thought I had missed the beginning and was hoping we'd catch a glimpse of the cast again, thus I just handed it to someone else - at least I made her happy. ;D Was too tired for a movie of that length anyway, so we hobbled home.

And look, there's me!

 Yep it was her,I just googled her picture. I just met the famous/infamous Kim Hollingsworth about an hour ago . She came to my place to pick up a couple of horses. I was walking up here, to the shopping centre, and I was thinking, I've seen her face before and she is a beautiful woman as well. She left me her number in case something went wrong with the horses, between now and when she comes back to get them. As I was walking up here, I was thinking, 'wait there, that might be Kim Hollingsworth'. I'd also seen on T.V that she had a horse farm.  She put Kim with her number and when I got here I just googled the picture and it was her. Unbelievable
