Phew! Two weeks in Tenerife with the family followed by a week in Scotland with friends. Tenerife was boiling hot while Scotland was... meh. Had a good time on both counts though, which was nice. A good break leading up to my GCSE results (and what a joy they're gonna be.

Anyway, that'll explain me being AWOL. So I was wondering... where have you guys been this summer? Or where are you guys going? Or, if you're not going anywhere this year, what'd be your dream holiday?

Answers on a postcard, or in the thread. :D

Hello! I return once more, for about the third time. Apologies for my absence. GCSEs have just been a pain and I haven't been able to do anything. I've just been trying to study as much as I can and, well, y'all understand.

And, may I say that there are a lot of new faces here. Not a bad thing of course. But I can't recognise any of the veterans (if I may call you veterans  :P) around here. I see Arwen's part of the moderating team though.  B)

Anyway, if you don't remember me, then I've probably made an idiot of myself.  But hey, GCSEs are over (almost, only one more exam left) so I have a lot more time on my hands. Whoo!

Anyway, the point being is that it's good to be back!  :)

I was just wondering if anyone else had heard of this author. Mainly because pretty much everyone else I've asked hasn't heard of him. He's a fantasy author, and has written quite a few books, most of them being based around a certain Dark Elf named Drizzt Do'Urden.

I haven't actually read any of his stuff...yet. I've just loaned out a couple books from the library, and I've heard good things about them. I also like the Forgotten Realms games, like Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale.

I think he's also done some stuff on Star Wars, but I'm not too sure on that one. Still, I'm not a fan of Star Wars so I wouldn't really know...

Lord of the Rings / LOTR console games.

Right, so anyway, my brother comes back from uni, with his PS2, of course. He's been gone for a while so he brung back an array of new games waiting for my testing. Amongst these was The Lord of the Rings The Two Towers. It's the one where you play as Aragorn, Legolas or Gimli. I think it's quite good, to be honest.

Has anyone else played it? Or if we're on the subject of LOTR games, has anyone played the 'other one'?

The idea of the thread is simple: name the albums you've been listening to most. Couldn't be easier. :) I'll start. This is the sort of music you'll see people like Drumma and Hefe listening to. Anyway:

Sugarcult - Start Static
Lit - A Place in the sun
Lit - Atomic
Simple Plan - No Pads, No Helmets, Just Balls
Millencolin - Home from Home
Rufio - Perhaps, I suppose
Strung Out - An American Paradox
Homegrown - Kings of Pop
Bad Religion - Recipe for Hate
Goldfinger - Open your eyes

How did you come up with your username? Is it a nickname you've carried for ages, or something you just made up on the spot?

I got mine ages ago. As a prank, someone poured the coke out of my drink bottle, and replaced it with Lynx shower gel while I had my back turned. I only swalled a tiny bit, and it was disgusting! Still, the name's stuck with me for ages, and I don't mind. (I'm trying to think why I didn't post this in the embarassing moments forum. )

I also get called Bambi, RJay and Dudek, but Lynx is the most popular name I have. I only get called Ryan by my family!

How about you guys?

Well the new cricket season is just around the season, and my school have a host of matches plus a tour to Australia (whoo!). I'm number two batsman plus the team's only spin bowler so I'll probably play every match (annoyed grunt). The athletics season just started today as well and I finished 4th in the 1600 metres race in the county athletics trials, but won the triple jump (whoo!).

Well, before my ego bursts, I was wondering what kinda sport you guys do?
