Robot and Frank
« on: April 21, 2012, 07:33:55 PM »
Liv's new movie is called Robot and Frank
Quote
Set in the near future, Frank, a retired cat burglar, has two grown kids who are concerned he can no longer live alone. They are tempted to place him in a nursing home until Frank's son chooses a different option: against the old man's wishes, he buys Frank a walking, talking humanoid robot programmed to improve his physical and mental health. What follows is an often hilarious and somewhat heart...breaking story about finding friends and family in the most unexpected places. Robot & Frank features an award winning cast including Academy AwardŽ nominee Frank Langella, James Marsden, Liv Tyler and Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon. Robot and Frank is a Samuel Goldwyn Films and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions film.

Liv plays Frank's daughter Madison.

Hope they'll do more, at least a Q&A with the directors perhaps, we'll see...

And I think Robot & Frank is on the list of Cannes too...I don't think that's true but people are tweeting about it. I'll try to find some article about that.

It would be great indeed, but, I really don't get it.
If R&F was really in Cannes, we should've heard it by now, but then again, what's this?

CANNES: Best movie of day so far, ROBOT & FRANK, retired thief Frank Langella planning one last heist with his robot butler. Sweet & funny.

There's a film at Cannes, ROBOT AND FRANK, about a retired jewel thief planning heist with his robot butler. Not #AltCannes. #ActualCannes.

^I have only a limited amount of time @ the library to hunt around. I entered Robot and Frank as a refined search and got nothing unfortunately. But lets hope it is true.
EDIT : Found this-  At Cannes, Walton also will be shopping third-party titles Therese, Hit and Run, Disconnect, Sundance favorite Robot & Frank and Look of Love

I guess the movie is being displayed in Cannes to distributors in order to sell it in Europe.

Not official premiere or something.

^I find it a bit odd that it is not screening after its success at Sundance and being a movie from the States. But Cannes is an international festival so that could explain it.You really think it would get a screening but.
