LOTR- a waste of time for Liv?
« Reply #30 on: February 12, 2003, 12:04:13 AM »
I think she and Galadriel were lucky to get even 15 mins in each film....its more than the book, they both read lotr before filming and so they would have seen that both characters hardly had a part to play in the trilogy at all....Arwen even stole Glorfindell's role!!.....and i certainly would'nt mind spending two years in New Zealand and getting paid what she got for it...not to mention the fame she has got from LOTR....

Eowyn and Faramir.. So sweet.. :D

As for Liv not getting much time in the film, she didn't spend all of the two years in New Zealand. And consider all the things the cast had to learn there!
Where did that come from? (Though it IS sweet, I'm an ֹowyn fanatic too. I roleplay her on LOTR forums. ;))

I must say when I first notice Liv,it's in LOTR,ARWEN.
although she has a few scenes in LOTR.I think it's really amazing.Because the LOTR is a great story. If the story all about Arwen and Aragorn,I think it's borned.Anyway,Arwen is a very important character in movie ,and instand Glofinderl. But in books, she isn't.so we should thanks to Peter would give Liv so "many" scenes  to act a perfect Arwen in movie.

I agree that screen time for her was very short. But in the interveiws that ive read she has said that she has really enjoyed it. I think that if she didnt like it she would have done something. She also says that she loved learning her Elvish lines. Just a thought :)

I believe that her screen times in the first two films were ok.Since Arwen is hardly mentioned in the  book. Also I agree that she did a perfect job and I can't think of someone else who can play Arwen better than Liv. Can you?

Definitely. I know someone who said Julia Roberts, should have given him a big whack on the head for that!

I have to say that I would love being a 3000 year old beauty such as Arwen , I glad Liv Tyler got the role and that Cate Blancheet as well and Miranda Otto.

I'm pretty sure Livvie loved being in the film though it was 15 minutes at least...I must say she did a good job for a not very developed character!

I think Liv is very very lucky to play in a triology of LOTR!

come on guys it is once in a lifetime or lifetimes thing. It is a legend I can be the person who cleans the trash of the set  for free if just I can be in those sets and with that crew . LOTR is a legend for many people it is a saga.
Besides  actors sign the contract after they have read the script. If I was play‎ng  Arwen ‎n those scenes I would probably be the happiest person imaginable. I think Liv knew everything before signing the contract. Who would sign a film contract without knowing how much screen time he-she has?!?!?!

ok, there are so many messages for this but I have to say it was a great step forward for Liv's career, I especially liked her more in Fellowship of the ring, She only seems to be in the two towers to heaten up the screen with the love triangle between Arwen, Aragorn and Eowyn.
She does that cool sword and horse riding scene in the first one, and it was more exciting as she was in a scene with Elijah Wood and so on.
That's my opinion! I like LOTR's but Liv should've been in it more, same with Cate Blanchett.
I didn't really like Miranda Otto, even though she's Australian and so am i.

Well, by
May   :)

i think lotr gave liv a lot of fame, even though it were just 15 minutes. by the way, she was on every billboard there is!
if i were to play in lotr, even if i had no lines, and just one scene, i would be crazy of joy! i think liv is pretty happy with her role as arwen, and she does it good.
You're altogether wonderful to me
