It seems now that Peter Jackson is not going to direct the Hobbit.
Well, I dont like that they are going to make it, but if they are going to make it then Peter have to direct it -_-

 True, there's always talking and I guess when they're involved in a lawsuit it's better to deny anyway.  :D I wouldn't loose hope yet.

McKellen Saddened By Jackson Hobbit Snub
The Lord Of The Rings star Sir Ian McKellen is considering his own involvement in The Hobbit, after discovering Peter Jackson will not direct the upcoming movie adaptation of JRR Tolkien's classic book.

In an email to a fan website earlier this week, Jackson revealed bosses at New Line Cinema had told him he would not be signed to make JRR Tolkien's classic or another The Lord Of The Rings prequel.

Jackson and his production company Wingnut Films are currently embroiled in a legal dispute with New Line Cinema over royalties from The Lord Of The Rings trilogy.

And McKellen, whose Lord Of The Rings character Gandalf also features heavily in The Hobbit, has serious doubts about returning to Tolkien's fantasy world without Jackson.

He says, "I'm very sad as I should have relished revisiting middle Earth with Peter again as team-leader. It's hard to imagine any other director matching his achievement in Tolkien country."

 :(

...Please let me keep this memory..just this one.

I didnt want them to make it at all, but now they really should consider not making it.
Now it just seems like they just want to make money out of it.

I hope McKellen would change his mind regardless of who is directing it . The story is already there. And I think they would loose a lot of die hard fans of the movies if the right cast was not there. Mabey McKellen is using a bit of wizardry to make New Line change their mind about Jacksons non involvment . Lets hope . LET BILBO GO ON HIS ADVENTURE!!!!

Well, then they should just loose the die hard fans...and maybe they will earn less money out of it.

I hope they do make the movie because the book was fantastic. I know it won't be the same without Ian or Peter but I would give it a chance.

it WOULD be cool to see how it all started, it helps understand it a bit more..

Yes, the book was really good. But books are often better then the movies. I was really surprised about Lord of the rings. Peter Jackson is one of a few directors, who can make the movie so good. I think if he won't be the director I don't want to go to "The Hobbit" because I love the book. And if the movie will be bad I would be really disappointed. :(
My man's got a heart, like a rock cast in the sea...

She has a heart as clear as diamonds
She has eyes as old as rome
She can swim between my islands
Where my water's made of stone

And she knows just how to heal me
And she knows just how i break
And she knows not how to believe me
It takes years to know a snake
